In various capacities, David Lincoln has advised wealth management, family office and financial services executives for more than 15 years. David has written extensively on a broad array of wealth management issues and is a highly-demanded speaker at industry events and client meetings.
David joined Family Office Exchange (FOX) as Managing Director in April 2007 to develop and lead the firm’s research practice. Prior to FOX, David was the Practice Manager for The VIP Forum of the Corporate Executive Board, which serves as a best practices research advisor to 150 leading wealth management and private banking organizations globally. David also founded and managed the firm’s retirement services research practice.
David has a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Columbia Business School in New York.
David’s wealth management-related areas of expertise include: ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth individuals; private banking, trust, brokerage and asset management; single and multi-family offices.
Senior Director, Business Development and New Products
Sunghoon oversees activities related to business development and new products at WISE. Before assuming this role, Sunghoon supported the WISE’s formative research and product initiatives and played a critical role in building the infrastructure and process for the firm’s industry-leading benchmarking efforts. In addition to his work at WISE, Sunghoon was an early employee and senior manager at Triblio, a marketing software company, responsible for client engagement and product management. Sunghoon contributed to Triblio’s rapid growth and successful acquisition by Liferay, a leading digital experience platform company. Sunghoon began his career at Capital Group, an investment management firm based in Los Angeles, where he supported business transformation initiatives for investment operations.
Sunghoon has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and process management consulting from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
Michael Kostoff has served the financial services industry as a trusted advisor and consultant to executives for the past twenty years. In addition to co-founding WISE Gateway, Mike is Managing Partner of The Kostoff Group, an advisory firm focusing on the wealth management, private banking, investment management, insurance and retirement services businesses.
Prior to founding The Kostoff Group, Mike managed the Financial Services Practice for the Corporate Executive Board, where he worked with the senior executives from over 600 firms spanning five continents. He managed programs across the financeancial services spectrum—including retail banking, commercial banking, private banking, wealth management, retirement services, investment management, insurance and operations. During this timeframe, Mike advised senior managers on a broad array of issues including business strategy, sales productivity and client management. Mike served as a member of the Corporate Executive Board’s Executive Committee for five years. During this period, the company grew its revenues over 30% per year and its net income over 50% per year.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science with high honors from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College and a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Although David Irwin has worked in all corners of the Financial Services industry throughout his career—ranging from brokerage, to life insurance, to investment management and regulation—David is best known for being the Senior Director of The VIP Forum, the Corporate Executive Board’s wealth management practice. With nearly a decade of experience serving executives in the wealth management marketplace, David has a unique perspective of the industry. David has helped industry executives improve sales, business operations and productivity. He routinely serves as the keynote speaker at industry conferences, addressing industry trends, and client demands.
David began his career in the management of real estate and commercial syndication projects in California and acquired his Series 7 securities license in 1987. He moved East in 1992 to join The Nasdaq Stock Market where he oversaw the daily operations of the Listing Qualifications Department. After leaving Nasdaq, David helped start a company developing a web-based, auto-execution equity trading platform. The company was later acquired by a nationally recognized equity exchange. David holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and an MBA from the University of California at Davis.
Director, Business Development
Mindy Surell is a senior sales, marketing and financial recruitment executive with over twenty-five years of expertise in client management, prospecting, business development, management, and talent targeting/acquisition. Mindy’s experience includes more than 20 years in the financial services industry in senior business and market development roles for private wealth managers and brokerage firms.
Mindy has successfully guided the growth and development of a number of smaller financial services firms by leading business development efforts and by cultivating extensive referral networks. Mindy’s accomplishments include adding more than $1 billion in assets and nearly $20 million in annual production in less than three years through the recruitment of advisors to a Florida-based financial advisory firm.
Outside of financial services, Mindy’s entrepreneurial interests led her to successfully launch and manage her own boutique clothing store.
Mindy studied psychology at the University of Texas and is a dyed in the wool Longhorn fan.
Jack Miossi is a research analyst for WISE Gateway. Jack is responsible for research regarding industry pricing and sales. Jack also assists analyzing financial data for WISE’s annual benchmarking initiative.
Rachel Nessim is a relationship manager for WISE Gateway. Her role is to foster strong client relations and to ensure member satisfaction. Rachel assists with WISE’s marketing and communication efforts.
